Katelyn Week

Katelyn celebrated #11
Soo... this week Katelyn had a ton of activities, so I decide to name it in her honor.  First she had her first flute recital (thursday) and then played for a judge at the flute federation at the U of U (saturday).
(We managed it get dinner finished and five kids out the door, Mariah to dance by 6:30 but we sadly forgot the camera :( thank goodness for camera phones.
Katelyn asked Santa for a flute, for Christmas, she is great at practicing, she is loving it

Dustin Spindler and Katelyn doin' the Mamba dance
On to dress rehearsal & Ballroom performance (monday & tuesday).  Where she was a Mamba, oh my! the cutest dance ever. She was a cannibal and there were tourists.  Couldn't even recognize her because her hair was so poofy.
Her friends sister did it backstage, Her hair was killer to get out though.

Beach Fun, my kids love the sand and I love to watch the ocean
One night I wanted to watch the sunset, it was tough to get everyone out there but we got there.  After I snapped this shot, my kids immediately went to play right near the water.  The wind picked up and a huge wave crashed over Tiger, soaked him and even kept him a few minutes from standing, he looked a little like a fish.  We stripped off his shirt and put on his luckily dry jacket but the kid walked up 200 steps in wet shorts without complaint.  I even accidently sprayed him with the shower not a squack. He did stay back from the water after that

Disneyland 2013

Disneyland is fun for kids, but a little tough on their parents.
But Tim and I pride ourselves in the fact that each one of our kids begged to go home at the end of the day.  Yes we dragged them to see every last thing that we could. We had to squeeze every last cent out
Meeting Woody was a treat.  He also met jessie and buzz
This car is really animated, it revs up just like in the movie  Tiger was a bit afraid to touch it.

A favorite ride Soarin over California

Audrey was able to ride quite a few rides including dumbo winnie the pooh, peter pan and pictured here the finding nemo submarine
I picked my partner well, we were able to baby swap all day and never missed a beat.  He even sat in the teacup for me to take this picture

Spring Break 2013

Spring Break 2013 Taking California by storm we set out on our vacation Monday morning at 3:30 (Tim is a tad crazy). We like to set out early, partly because we just can't wait and partly because we are half-way there before the kids wake up. Our plan for the last few years has been pack the car the night before and toss the kids in the car in their pjs at some unearthly hour such as 4 or 5 or when dad can't sleep from excitement 3:30. Makes the trip so easy, plus we get their in time to playa little, which was tHe case this time we were in the swimminG pool at 4 pm. I found a VRBO on the beach at Dana Point. It is a great little condo, we got a great deal and best part it has 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms now I am not sure I can go back to the hotel style vacation. After my lost and found run ( I got lost and had to retrace my beach steps) along the beach the first morning we headed to the American Girl Doll store. Where Mariah along with her push over father bought the doll she has been wanting since Christmas. She saw it in the magazine and got stuck on it. Even wanted to sell hot chocolate on the canal during January to pay for her (Saige the girl of the year doll) but I convinced the girls instead to make popcorn balls and cinnamon rolls and sell them instead. So she saved a remarkable 70 dollars but did not even bring it to the store because she knew it was not enough and did not want to be tempted to spend it. So in the store while she was feeling low. Daddy decided to let her borrow the rest of the money and he made her a happy girl. We ended the day on the beach where Audrey had a ball playing in the sand. Our kids can't get enough of sand.
